"Me too!" -- equivalent in Thai?

Postby CalmDownMonkey » Sun Nov 06, 2011 7:42 pm

I'm wondering what Thais would say where we would normally say "Me too" in English.

For example, someone says to you:
ผมเหนื่อยมาก / I am very tired
...and you want to say "Me too!"

Does it have something to do with the word "เหมือนกัน"?

The answer is in your question...

Perfect, thank you

The page for เหมือน has a huge amount of related words and examples and I wasn't sure which of them made sense in the context I gave

You can always use เหมือนกัน to mean "the same here" or "me too"

เช่นกัน is okay is most contexts too.

Note: เช่นกัน is more formal.

Can it be used as a stand-alone expression in the same way that 'me too!' is? For example, if someone tells you they love chocolate ice-cream can you just say เหมือนกัน on its own as a reply?

Yes, you can. It is a short form (not quite common) but it is understandable.

To me, I normally use 'ผม ก็ เหมือนกัน". So the format can be as below.

Subject (ผม, ฉัน) + ก็ + เหมือนกัน
