If you scroll down, you will find an area of the page "Add the Thai Word to the Dictionary". Please add the word and your understanding of its meaning or a question about the word or phrase. Hi David. I have put a few words up and was wondering if you would like a sample sentence with each word or is a definition enough?

Here is a sample sentence:

"นักการเมืองชื่อดัง ๆ ในสนามเลือกตั้งจะหมดสิทธิ์ลงเล่นการเมืองกราวรูดเป็นเวลา 5 ปี จำนวน 100 กว่าคน" [มติชนสุดสัปดาห์, วันที่ 02 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2550 ปีที่ 27 ฉบับที่ 1381, หน้า 8]
[More than 100 politicians, well-known in the political arena, will completely lose their rights to participate in politics for five years.]

"...ไม่เคยมีใครในตระกูลที่สนใจลงเล่นการเมืองท้องถิ่น" [เนชั่นสุดสัปดาห์ ฉบับที่ 915 ประจำวันที่ 11 ธันวาคม 2552]
[There was no one in his family who was interested in entering local politics.]

As I said in my pm I couldn't find any sentences to back up my word. Started to wonder if I had imagined it. Your sentences are great.

Just wondering if สนามเลือกตั้ง should be translated differently.
In another sentence สนามการเมือง is translated as politics.
เขาเป็นตำรวจมาถึง ๑๑ ปีก่อนเบนเข็มเข้าสู่สนามการเมือง - "He was a policeman for 11 years before turning to politics."

In another sentence สนามเลือกตั้ง has been translated as election campaign
นี้จะไม่ใช่เพียงแค่โครงการขายฝันในสนามเลือกตั้งเท่านั้น - "This is not merely selling a pie-in-the-sky idea during an election campaign."

So what about - More than 100 well known politicians, in the election campaign, will completely lose their rights to participate in politics for five years.]

Or if it is to do with the overseeing of the election it might be this:
More than 100 well known politicians, in the electoral commission , will completely lose their rights to participate in politics for five years.]
