Postby taimysho0 » Tue Mar 26, 2013 11:17 pm

Hello,

was wondering if anyone knows of a thai book that is in both english and is in thai. im thinking of buying a book such as harry potter, a thai version and english version, but if theres a book that already comes with both in one, would be great! thanks

I have seen a few of them at SE-ED shops, essentially classical novels or short stories.

Does the poster mean "transliteration" (as in the title) or "translation"?

SE-ED are libraries that you can find in every supermarket or commercial center in Thailand.

if you google "thai bilingual books", you will get many results like :

"library" in French is actually "bookshop" in English. In English, a library loans books, it doesn't sell them. But I think this is your only English mistake, Claude. :D

Right, Pensive ! Thank you very much for correcting that mistake... Seems that I am now forgetting what I have learnt at school many years ago... hope you are fine and please correct me again when needed !

[The Se-ed "e-shop" can be found here http://www.se-ed.com/eshop/ . You will probably need someone to help you order.]

You can also sign up with Chulabooks to become a member and order books through their e-book store. For example, "THE BROTHERHOOD OF KAENG KHOI (ลับแล, แก่งคอย ฉบับภาษาอังกฤษ)" by UTHIS HAEMAMOOL is available at http://www.chulabook.com/description.as ... 9742473945 .

This contemporary work of fiction was brilliantly translated by one of our participants here, Montrii.

The dual language book "แม่ไม้มวยไทย ศิลปะป้องกันตัว (สองภาษา ไทย-อังกฤษ) (MAE MAI MUAY THAI THE ART OF SELF-DEFENSE)", for example, can be found at http://www.chulabook.com/description.as ... 9740327127

The registration page for Chulabooks is at http://www.chulabook.com/register.asp .

Let us know what books you find.
