Hi, I am using Windows 2000 NT, and have followed your information to have the Thai Characters installed. Which one whould I chose: Pattachote or Kedmanee? Also, while typing thai, I tried to press the "Esc" button to switch to English, it does not see to be work.

by the way, a Thai friend told me that kub is used rather common than krub nowadays, is it right? If so, is it spelled as คบ?

I installed the Kedmanee keyboard. In the "Text Services and Input Languages" dialog box, you'll see a "Key Settings..." button which brings up the switching controls. The default for switching input languages is apparently Left Alt + Shift.

With older systems the tilde key was used -- below the escape key.

As for Krap/Kap, both are used. I believe Kap is more prevalent in Bangkok. Perhaps Krap is consided more formal or proper, while Kap is a lazier or more familiar everyday use.
