มองในแง่ดี อย่างน้อยน้ำท่วมก็ยังพอมีประโยชน์อยู่บ้างนะคะ มันอาจจะไม่ตรงกับสำนวน "น้ำขึ้นให้รีบตัก" โดยตรง แต่เหมาะกับการใช้พูดในเชิงขบขันกึ่งประชดได้ค่ะ :D

I never thought of fish when I heard that; I always thought of water. Is the sense of the proverb specific to one or the other?

Perhaps, to make wordplay from the สำนวน, one might substitute ตก for ตัก: น้ำขึ้นให้รีบตกปลา

(It wouldn't work for that photo, though, because ตก refers to fishing with a line rather than a net. In such case, maybe น้ำขึ้นให้รีบจับปลา) ?

A proverb is built on metaphors, and, sometimes, a metaphor is just a metaphor. It is only when the facts literally approach those of the metaphor that humor results.
