Just wanted to let readers know that the Book Expo will be at Queen Sirikit Convention Center here in Bangkok from the 15th until the 26th of October..

It's always a worthwhile thing to do/see.

Here's the link to the sponsors site;

Here's the link to the Queen Sirikit Event Calendar;

Be warned, on the weekends it is jammed packed with people!! :)

If you're going, one thing that is not to be missed is the presentation stage.

Just from living in Thailand, you will know many of the authors There is the stage, and of course the ubiquitous "disposable cardboard seats" (อย่าทิ้งตัวลงหน้กนะ...

It's a great opportunity to listen to the authors speak about their works (almost entirely in Thai), and after the presentation is over, ที่จะ "แสดงกำลังทรัทธา" เสียหน่อยนะ...and purchase a copy of their book / have them sign it if you're going to engage them in conversation.

As stated in previous post - if you don't like huge crowds - go on a weekday morning. I see a lot of Thai youngsters there with actual carry-on bags on rollers จนตะเข็บแทบจะปรินี่นา...so If you're going to buy a lot of books, bring a suitcase on rollers. Have fun!

One new book on show, according to Khao Sot, is the Thai translation of 'I Am Malala', the Pakistani girl who has become very well-known after her experiences at the hands of the Taliban.

I went to the Book Expo on Friday thinking I'd sneak in with no one there. :)

Unfortunately I forgot the school term is closed now and it was packed to the rafters with people.. :shock:

It's worth going, but it's packed with people! :lol:
