i learnt the alphabet and can read, use dictionary pretty well, but not that good at writing yet. at the moment i mostly write essays and my friend checks spelling, grammar and so on. then at home i rewrite everything and learn new vocabulary. next time we have a short dictation. however this method is quit time consuming. was looking for a book with a structured way to learn this skill, but haven't seen anything worthwhile. any recommendations?

That is exactly the book I used in my younger days. However, I think the Marie Brown book is long out of print.
