I'll throw my testimonial in here along with the others. I heard about Narisa through this forum and signed up for lessons with her about 10 months ago. I can only confirm what others have said - she is reliable, intelligent, and (most importantly for me) able to explain the smallest nuances of the Thai language. I've had many teachers before so I can say with certainty that this comes from her extensive experience and background in linguistics - being a native Thai speaker alone is not enough to make someone a good teacher.

One thing I also liked was that at the beginning, she asked if I wanted a "fun" or "serious" style, along with the preferred degree of correction ("high","medium", or "mild"). After years of studying Thai off and on, I wanted serious study for rapid progress. I got exactly what I wanted, and am very happy with the results.

Thank you Narisa, and I wish you all the best of luck.

Hi everyone,
I would like to say a few lines about Narisa and her tuition, an excellent and caring teacher.
I signed up to her course a year ago as my wife could not stand my poor pronunciation from using a Linguaphone Thai course to teach myself. I have travelled to various countries over the years and always try to learn the language but I am not a born linguist and learn quite slowly.
We started with a first hour on credit from Narisa for which you pay her only if you are happy, very reassuring. She then assesses your knowledge and wishes, tailoring the tuition to your requests of fun or serious and how strict she should be. I enjoyed our chats which make the lesson more relaxed and I think ease the learning process. We slowly worked through the book from the beginning as it took a while to correct my false start but with the lessons always adapted to reflect my life and circumstances. This has brought in a lot of additional vocabulary which is useful to me. We learn in English which she speaks very well and there is never any confusion caused from her side on the grammar or language. I am learning the Thai script but cannot use that nearly well enough for the lessons.
Narisa is never afraid nor too impatient to go back to a previous subject when she feels that you don't remember a point or a pronunciation. The script of my course is 25 years out of date despite it being newly purchased and Narisa brought the language up to date when required, she says that grandmothers would be happy if I spoke that way. By learning online with Skype and it's message board you are as good as in the classroom without anyone having to travel. Narisa is also quite accommodating with the time of day for your lesson.
All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending her as a teacher, and as a friend, even if we have not yet met face to face.
If anyone needs further reassurance then Narisa can forward my email address and I will communicate directly with any of you.

Ajaan Narisa has been helping me learn Thai for the past 6 months. I am very happy to recommend her to anyone wishing to learn or improve their Thai language skills.

I applied for a Thai Permanent Resident visa this year, and Ajaan Narisa was helpful in teaching me a wider vocabulary and practice conversation with typical questions and answers about living and working in Thailand.

It has been possible to record the lessons via skype, which has made it very helpful to review lessons, and go over details that I would have otherwise have forgotten.

Others on this forum have made lists of her helpful techniques, so I won't repeat them, but I would just like to reconfirm her professionalism and dedication.

re: skype lessons with khun Narisa Naropakorn

I was told recently I scored 9.13 out of 10 on the Thai conversation test for my permanent residence application. Thanks to Ajaan Narisa for her help!

The option of reviewing the Skype classes with the computer was really helpful, great for anybody with a poor memory for languages like myself.

Eric Rosenkranz, one of my newest students, is a strategic advisor and regular columnist at The Nation newspaper. In today’s edition he wrote about my Skype Thai language lessons and other successful online educational businesses. Enjoy !
