I bought a PC from my firm which it is installed Windows XP. There is no "Thai" available to choose in Langauge as suggested in this website.

Can one help and suggest what I should do so that I can type Thai on this computer? Many thanks for all help!!

Please see the attached for instructions for adding Thai to Windows XP. You can Google the file name for the source.

Sorry!! it was not possible to do so. "Thai" is not available in drop-down menu. I have tried that already. The problem is, I do not have the original CD of Window XP. The PC is installed by the firm.

Can I try anything else??

It's small enough that you can examine it yourself to confirm that there are no viruses lurking in it, and it is completely self-contained. Weirdly, Internet Explorer distrusts (distrusted?) all javascript on one's local machine, but I think you can tell it to let the script run. It's a pain to have to copy and paste the text, but for small amounts of text it is quite usable.

same as me...when i installed the window XP they didn't include the Thai language. why happen like that? Can any one tell me, how to include Thai language in window XP

Aumaiy, it's not clear what your problem is. Do you have administrator rights on 'your' PC? If you do, and the problem is that you lack an installation CD, the perfectly legal solution is to download the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator (MSKLC) and create your own keyboard. You then install it and it is available for all users to add to their repertoire. (I don't see any moral objection to using MSKLC to copy a keyboard from one Windows XP machine to another licensed XP machine.)

If you don't have administrator access, you will have to use one of the special programs (such as my web page).

The reason complex text layout is often not installed on XP machines is that it uses up disk space. East Asian text (i.e. Chinese characters and the like) is an even greater consumer of disk space. Most Thai fonts on XP don't need complex text layout - it gives a slight improvement to the appearance of sara am plus tone mark.
