iPad app with no sound

I've had the iPad app for a while but just yesterday I found out it should "speak". Unfortunately when I hold down on a word or phrase and tap "speak", visually it acts like it is reading but there is no sound (I have the volume at maximum). Any thoughts on what to do to fix this?

Jim,

I suspect you are talking about the app created for the iPhone and iPad and not the full site on Safari. Is that correct?

I can't talk about the iPad app, but I can tell you that the "speak" function works well on my iPhone 4S. We hope that others can relate their experience.

Yes, I was asking about the app I'm using on the iPad. For some reason, I don't get any sound from the app (other apps produce audio so it's not an audio problem).

Is the sound still missing on version 1.6.2 (released yesterday)?

If yes, does it make any difference if you enable the "enhanced voice" for Thai in the iPad settings? You can find the setting here:

Settings > General > Accessibility > Voice Over > Languages & Dialects > Default Dialect > Enhanced Quality = ON
