Hello,
My name is Jean-Louis and I am french. I first visited Thailand in 2013 and bought a conversation guide which frightened me a little bit. Back from my 4th trip at the end of 2015, I bought a learning book and I started learning by myself.
I quickly felt it would be hard to speak without being able to read thai. Using several books, some in english, which I bought in Thailand, some in french, bought in France or in Thaïland, with different phonetic system made it even more difficult for me if I couldn’t read thaï. I then started following courses in a thai language school in Phuket, whenever I go there (2 or 3 times a year and I went there 8 times now). For reading thai and for learning thai, thai-language.com helps me a lot.
I speak french, english, spanish and a little modern greek (I studied latin at high school)
