old timer's music

Can any of the old timers here help me remember the names of some of the 70's singers? The only name I can come up with is ดาวใจ ไพจิตร. I'm looking for some of her contemporaries, particularly male singers. They sang the popular songs of the times, but with the traditional Thai scale and melody. Thanks!

I'm not sure if I've posted this link before, but here goes for any of you that missed it it: An excellent collection of ลูกทุ่ง, ลูกกรุง etc can be found at มนต์รักเพลงไทย

The site currently has about 100 different albums available for download. It seems that a new album is added every week.

Have fun!!!

Simon - Forgive my ignorance about such things. I tried to play some of the tracks on the site, but it wants me to download some programs one of which Norton says is not safe. Can you tell me a little more about how I might go about listening to some of this music? It looks great.

Julie, to preview the albums you have to have Adobe Flash Player 10 installed, if this is what Norton is warning you against, there isn't any problems with this software, go ahead and download it. Adobe Flash Player is used widely of the Internet.

To download the albums in full, click on "tracklist" and this will bring you to the download page, click on "click here to start download" and there you have it.

There are some real beauties to be found. When I was last in Thailand, I played some of the music to my Thai friends and they were absolutely flabbergasted  that I should have such music. Enjoy!!

If you download the archive, all the tunes are in MP3 format, so you don't need Flash.

I don't know why I can't open these tracks. I have adobe flash player 10 installed but the 'download' and 'play now' buttons both send me to something called mediafire and then another audio player download. I hate computers sometimes.
