HI Good Morning some advice please for a greenhorn on this site.

I have a couple of sound problems.

1 On win 8.1 with IE 11 but no touchscreen ie mouse kbd input. The sound works ok for all options, however
In Lessons: 1st Lesson: Listing for tones of one syllable words: There is no speaker Icon or Thai word in the left hand box.
so you cannot select the sound.
Changing things in control panel make no difference any ideas???????

2 Now when using Firefox nothing works no sound at all, other than ''To test your ability to play WMA files'', which plays ok
fiddled around with control panel no difference.
I have downloaded wmpfirefoxplugin.exe no different.
However I do have the speaker Icon from question 1..........

Now I have an old xp tower using IE8 with firefox and i have managed to set it up fine on both browsers.
So I am confused, got a headache and have run out of ideas........
Help please
Thanks ***

PS to all this above, have installed Google Chrome and all the sound and graphics are there and work ok........ at last
and can start my homework after 12 hours of fiddling around.
FYI In UK I use Thai-Style course and teacher for reading/writing /speaking etc all good stuff
Cheers ***

I think the 'explorer' part of Internet Explorer (IE) might be analogous with the European explorers who went to the 'new world'.

As in; blundering about randomly, with little knowledge of where they were going, and no ability to do anything constructive when they got there. :)

I have avoided using it for a number of years now.
