notes | พัทธสีมา is a specially consecrated area within certain Buddhist temple complexes that marks out the area of a land sima (สีมา or เสมา). Ordination halls must be constructed within the bounds of this specially consecrated area, which is usually delimited by eight sima stones (ใบเสมา) positioned at the four cardinal and four semi-cardinal directions, respectively. | ||
