Colloquially, เปรต is used to refer to a specific type of ghost, very tall & thin ghosts with pinhole-sized mouths, thus are always hungry – the karmic result of excessive greed in life. Said to be associated with palm trees due to their analogous shape. They are functionally equivalent to the Hungry Ghosts of Buddhist China. | ||
