notesขนมจีนไม่ใช่อาหารจีน แต่คำว่า "จีน" สันนิษฐานกันว่าน่าจะมาจากมอญซึ่งเรียกขนมจีนว่า "คนอมจิน" หมายถึง "สุก ๒ ครั้ง The term “kahnom chin” is not “Chinese” food. The word “chin” is believed to be derived from the Mon language which calls these noodles “khanawm chin”. This word means “cooked twice.”
